Board Member Maria Garriga Covington Classical Academy

Cari Garriga is a Professor of Spanish and Director of the Monsignor Cleves University Honors Program at Thomas More University. She has served numerous roles throughout TMU including as the Director of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, Assistant Dean, and Director of the Academic Advising Task Force. Cari is a tenured Spanish professor at TMU, where she has taught for 25 years and was the Chair of TMU’s Department of Foreign Languages for nearly 20 years. During her tenure, TMU established sister schools in Spain, Puerto Rico, and France. Cari is active in the Northern Kentucky community and is a member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Initiative Regional Summit Steering Committee, she volunteers as an interpreter at Covington Independent Schools, and is a Founding Member of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.

As Covington Classical Academy’s Board Chair, Cari will not only lead with her passion for excellent education, but she will also contribute her strengths of mindful program development, ethical leadership, and work-life integration. Originally from Puerto Rico, Cari now resides with her husband in Covington where she enjoys cooking, reading, nature, and having an active lifestyle.
