Join us for a Fifth Day Event
Prospective students are invited to experience a Fifth Day
On most Fridays we break out of the classroom and have a special, all-day program we call Fifth Day. Faculty members lead the activities, sharing their passion for learning with the students and modeling the traits of lifelong learning. Fifth Day follows the Experiential Learning model which has been shown to make learning more relatable. Studies also show that learning outside of the classroom leads to the development of skills for lifelong learning.
The special programs fall into four categories: Physical Activity, STEM, Arts & Humanities, and Service. So far this year we have:
- Learned crime scene techniques (and the science behind them) from the FBI
- Found and identified fossils just 5 miles from our school
- Explored the architecture and history of Covington
And we have much more planned for the year, including volunteer days where we give back to the community. You can see them on our school calendar.
Most Fifth Days begin at 9:00 AM and ends at 1 PM.
